CEINNOVA is the Center for Technological Development for the Footwear, Leather and Related Industries in Colombia. CEINNOVA was founded in 1996 under an initiative from the Corporacion de Industriales del Calzado [the Industrialist’s Footwear Corporation] CORNICAL (currently known as ACICAM), with seed capital from COLCIENCIAS as well as the counterbalancing promotion, cooperation, and resources from this association.

The fundamental activity of this Center is the lending of the following services to the companies within this sector: transfer of technology, technical information and fashion, improvement in quality, technical assistance, design, and product development, testing laboratory, and business development.

CEINNOVA also seeks to facilitate continuous research and improvement regarding international competitiveness of the companies comprising the production chain of the Colombian leather and footwear sector and their related products.

Through affiliation, institutional agreements, technical services and technologies, CEINNOVA maintains a bond with more than 450 supplier footwear manufacturers, leather products and leather clothing companies as well as merchandisers, centers for technological development, and universities within Colombia and abroad.
